Make Up For Ever Technicolor Palette

What they say…(from Sephora)

Inspired by the 1930s cinematic transition from black-and-white motion picture to color imagery, Technicolor Palette features bold, saturated colors that bring the eyes to life. Mix and match the eight shades to create highly pigmented, long-lasting looks that reflect any style or mood. This palette features three exclusive colors, including the season’s coveted yellow shade, along with a mirror and two round brushes for application on the go.

What I say…

New for Spring 2013 is the  Make Up For Ever Technicolor Palette. Here we have 8 (0.03oz each) electrifying eye shadows that range from matte to shimmer, a full sized mirror, also included are two small eye brushes in 10P and 16P. The palette is light and about 5 inches in length and 2 inches tall.

On the back of the box includes the numbers to the colors and shows two looks you can create with the shadows.

List of colors, finishes, and swatches

- 04 Black matte

blk-swatch

The swatch makes it look bad but I promise on the eye it performs great!

- Yellow shimmer

yellow-swatch

Uh, hello look at this yellow! It’s gorgeous! Primary yellow at its best!

-91 Apple Green matte

green-swatch

Again, the swatch does not do this color justice. It was a little powdery but nothing awful. The color is so pigmented it stained my fingers while swatching.

-72 Turquoise matte

blue-swatch

A beautiful blue I know i’ll be using a lot during the summer time! This shadow also stained my skin ever so slightly but was SO smooth.

-116 Lilac matte

lilac-swatch

This color is to die for! I love it so much! As you can see it is powdery but it is manageable. Lilac really stood out bringing out my brown eyes. I used this shade on my inner corner but it didn’t show much. Fair skinned girls will probably have more luck with it showing up on its own, I think next time I will use a white base to really make it pop.

-00 White matte

white-swatch

Wonderfully pigmented! A stark white that had no trouble blending and fading away. This baby has a silky smooth formula too.

-17 Espresso matte

brown-swatch

Swatch does not do it justice. This matte chocolate brown can easily be used as a blending color, crease color or paired with one of the brighter colors for a more toned down look.

-126 Yellow Beige Shimmer

beige-swatch

This one was difficult to show as you can see it’s similar to my skin tone! Perfectly pigmented, perfect formula, and a perfect lid color for those days you just need a wash of color to make you look bright eyed and bushy tailed. Love!

colors

Here’s the family in no particular order. Lovely colors right?

Here are the brushes included:

Here is the 10P compared to a MAC 239 for size reference

brush-compare

The brushes feel a little bit flimsy but they really do get the job done in a pinch. The 10P is great for packing on color but also can work for adding colors into the outer V and crease. The 16P is fantastic for applying shadow to the lower and upper lash line.

My quick attempt at the “Get the look” look from the back of the box. As you can see the lilac shade doesn’t show up very much on me. But look how vibrant the colors are without primer or base! Blending was not difficult at all especially for the matte shadows which worried me in the beginning.

As you can see Make Up For Ever gave us four “safe” colors and four bright fun colors. There really is something for everyone. Those of you who may be scared of color can use the brighter colors on the lash line for a pop of color or even a little dash in the crease! Options people options!

Overall, Make Up For Ever (MUFE) hit it out of the park with the Technicolor palette! Yes some colors were a wee bit powdery which caused some fall out but that did not impact the quality of the eye shadows at all! Just make sure to do your eye makeup first before foundation or put loose powder under your eyes; whichever works for you. :)

I know I will be reaching for this a lot during spring and summer. Seriously I love Spring and Summer collections for the bright cheery colors that are released! I can’t wait to do more looks with this palette.

I REALLY hope you pick this up and love it as much as me!

Technicolor Palette is available at Sephora for $45.00. BTW..If you click the very first picture it will open the Make Up For Ever Technicolor Palette page on Sephora.com

Whoa, this palette is so bold! I wouldn’t even know how to use that matte white to be honest LOL

Love your look! I think you did just enough blending so the colors still pop, but don’t look stark against each other!

Actually looking at this palette makes me feel so happy :) But I am not sure whether I’ll look fine in these daring shades, but anyway I love the eyelook you created. Bold and fun :D

WOW. This is the first I’m seeing this. I love the matte texture combined with the bold colors. I don’t wear nearly enough color to justify purchasing this, but if you do, I can see it being a must-have. I kind of wish I could just get the more neutral shades in the palette (white, browns, black) but then again I have plenty of those already. Great review and swatches, thanks for showing this :)

My color would be a mix of Blues and Greens ( going to the green ish side more than the blue) with golden and Silver under tones to it, and i would call it Mermaid Dreams. :) )I think it would be a beftaiuul color! :) <3
