This is the true life story of the Seche Clear Crystal Clear Base Coat.
While at Sally Beauty Supply I was picking up some nail polish remover I decided to pick up another bottle of Seche top coat. (Love that stuff.) I noticed if I purchased the top coat I would get the base coat for free & hey who doesn’t love that?
With the boyfriend getting anxious I purchased my items and we went on our way.
While painting my nails on Sunday for my -Super Simple Easter Inspired I Have No Nail Art Talent Manicure- I noticed in the back of my “Melmer” was my untried bottle of Seche Clear.
So I figured what the hey, I’ll try it out now!
First thing I noticed was how thin the formula was. “Ok, awesome, it dries really fast and flows perfectly.”
I painted my nails with:
- Essie Turquoise & Caicos
- OPI Goldeneye (My idea was to have this nail sort of like a “golden egg”)
- OPI Can’t Find My Czechbook
- OPI Pedal Faster Suzi!
- OPI You’re Such A Budapest
After being happy with everything and letting it dry..I went to bed and the next morning I had planned to take pictures but figured I’d wait to photograph the mani in the afternoon….
Well,..this is my manicure after one day!
WAAAHHH!!! Chips galore! It’s not like I was banging my fingers everywhere either. Hah!
When I use OPI Natural Nail Strengthener, my polish will last entire week with the slightest tip wear and maybe just maybe one small chip.
I’ve decided I’ll just use this base coat for swatching since it won’t last very long. Le Sigh..
So how about you? Have you tried it with great success? Maybe I’m doing something wrong?
Hope your Tuesday is going well!
